Taking pictures from a hide
I am posting from my photo hide in Vadu. A lot of water fowl and the first Black-winged Stilts are surrounding me. The Bitterns are booming. The weather is sunny but freezing. In the morning there was ice on the surface. I will post some

pictures later if I get any...

Bear watching in Romania

Our reports from the Carpathians show a great Brown Bear activity in the area of Zarnesti. This is a great time to go bear watching in the mountains as the snow is not completely melted and the tracks are easy to spot.
The wolves, are also active in the low valeys and this is the time when they leave most tracks as the one in the picture.

The bird migration in the Danube Delta has started

As the spring is taking controle the birds started to move. At the last winter count Saturday 14th of March we spotted a lot of waders in the lagoon area near Vadu and Gridul Lupilor. Species observed that day - Great Black-headed Gull, Spotted Redshank, Redshank, Avocet, Black-tailed Godwit, Curlew, Hoopoe, White-tailed Eagle and Long-legged Buzzard.
Many other birds where recorded that day. The Red-breasted Geese are almost gone and we couldn't find any.
This is a good time to come for birdwatching at the edge of the Danube Delta's lagoons.
Check out a couple of pictures I took during that day.
Join one of our Birdwatching Tours in Danube Delta. Birding in Romania can be exciting...
